Some SAID Nigeria supporters have been asking for update concerning the Okuku, Owerri social housing project. No one is a stranger to the economic hardship that came upon Nigeria when the present government took over in 2023. Inflation is at all time high and poverty is on the increase. As a charity, we are most vulnerable to economic down-turn since we rely on the generosity of people and organisations to implement our programmes and projects. This project of eight units of house with four apartments in each unit was suspended.
We are glad to say that our recent meetings with Selavip International, ETEX Group (Nigerite and Emenite) have been fruitful. We shall in no distant time commence work on two out of the eight units.
Our hope is that those who share our vision to provide decent housing free of charge to those on the edges of life will support the completion of the remaining 6 units.
