Capacity Building Workshop For CAGs

SprigAid International Development ( SAID Nigeria), on a capacity building workshop for Community Action Group (CAGs) on the implementation of Social Mobilization to end Female Genital Mutilation in Ikeduru LGA.

The group will embark on in home visit to remind their community members of the joint agreement with SAID Nigeria to end this inhuman practice that deprives the girl child her rights.

Another group that will work alongside with them is the Community Girl Child Protection ( C G C P). Their work is to monitor and report to the appropriate quarters eg, Child Protection Agency, Police, Women Affairs Commission and and SAID Nigeria, when the right of a child is about to be violated through harmful traditional practices.

SAID Nigeria with partners are working to ensure that all hands are on deck to see that female genital mutilation (FGM) becomes a thing of the past in our communities. It should be recalled that SAID Nigeria, when we visited the six communities on a community organization and mobilization to end female genital mutilation, all the visited communities after the sensitization agreed to end the practice in their various communities. And they all promised to invite SAID Nigeria for a day of abandonment. Though it is no longer been practice collectively as a culture, but individually.

SAID Nigeria in collaboration with The Girl Generation TGG UK. You can also partner with SAID Nigeria so that the rest of the communities will benefit.
