SAID Nigeria Back-to-School Program
Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty. Yet, for millions of children in Nigeria, access to quality education remains a challenge.
At the time of this programme, Nigeria had an estimated 10.5 million children out of school, giving the country one of the largest out-of-school child populations in the world. At the same time, only a small proportion of the national budget was being allocated to education.
Behind these statistics are real children whose opportunities for learning, growth and a better future are at risk.
Helping Children Get Back to School
The SAID Nigeria Back-to-School Program was created to support children who face barriers to accessing education and help them return to the classroom.
For many families, the cost of school fees, uniforms, books, learning materials and other basic requirements can make education difficult to afford. These challenges can force children to remain at home or drop out of school.
Through the Back-to-School initiative, SAID Nigeria seeks to help vulnerable children overcome some of these barriers and reconnect with education.
Investing in a Child’s Future
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, develop their potential and build a better future.
Supporting a child to return to school is not simply about providing educational materials. It is an investment in that child’s confidence, skills and future opportunities.
When children are educated, families and communities benefit too. Education can open pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, civic participation and greater economic independence.
Every Child Deserves a Chance
The challenge of out-of-school children cannot be solved by government alone. It requires collaboration among communities, civil society organizations, parents, schools, donors and other stakeholders.
SAID Nigeria is committed to playing its part by supporting vulnerable children and promoting greater access to education.
A child in school today has a better chance of building a brighter tomorrow.
Together, we can help more children return to school, stay in school and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Give a child a chance. Support education. Build a better future.
